What was I thinking?

Running the 1/2 marathon has always been a dream and on Saturday, January 18th that dream became a reality. Just a few highlights:
  • Don't shout at the lady encouraging the walkers - hey I am not a freaking walker!! (did that in my head, not out loud)
  • Maybe I should have trained more
  • Maybe I should have trained even more
  • Maybe, just maybe I should have trained WAY even more

Will I do this again, heck yes, BUT only if I train the proper way. Walking hurts so bad it brings tears to my eyes, bending makes me want to barf and just the thought of going up or even down stairs makes my head spin - literally.

What did I learn from this: I am so proud of myself and my husband for finishing - but I am not proud of how we got there. We will do this again, but the right way - training properly!

123 Cyclists and 106 Sizes?

Not sure how many team members are keeping up with the blog, but need to get the remaining sizes by Monday.....using the link only. No sizes will be accepted by email - need to make sure everyone is reading the emails (entirely).

If you are an employee/contractor and have guests riding on the team - make sure your guests have turned in their sizes via the link provided in the email.

Reason for the link is to reduce errors and save valuable time.....let's all work together to make this happen.

Hope this finds everyone well....pretty chilly today.

Also - if you have a facebook page - look me up!

Welcome to the New Year....

Hello everyone, hope this finds you well and cycling your buns off...

Waiting until everyone has put in their sizes so I can order the jerseys. Probably going to cut back on a few of the gimmies, but standards will remain. Need to keep things sensible - this is a charity ride after all.

Here is a where I am with personnal training and fitness: Joined "biggest loser" at work - need to shave 25lbs off my fat arse, haven't cycled since I rode with Paddy during the summer, run here and there....overall - fat and out of shape. My biggest obstacle: time. How can or do I fit it in? I am a Mom, wife, employee, student, captain.....not to mention daughter and sister....oh my and a friend! I need to get into the groove and carve out some time for my health. Need to put some thing first...and that is me. I don't seem to do that enough....plus I need to write my resolutions for 2009. Theme: reduction. While reduction can come off as negative, it can result in a positve. Like: reduce my BMI, which will increase my overall health. Not going to put numbers on things - less crying next year.

Anywhoooooo

I hope this finds you all back to work, happy and healthy. Continue to read here and at cycleheaveusa.com - take a peak at all of your cycling buddy blogs. We will be on here posting tips and tricks to make the ride easier, fun and most of all safe.

Wishing you the best for this and years to come....
